Sort of...
Just in case you hadn't heard, Nebraska On-Ramp went out of business over a year ago (1 April 2007). Through the actions of the president of the company, nearly all of the critical services our customers needed were transfered to other companies, at no cost, with the understanding that these customers pre-paid services would continue to be honored. Some of the recipients of this windfall did a better job than others.
In spite of what Channel 7 may have said on the air, there is no guarantee of any business, no matter how big or old, staying in business.
- If you are looking for dial-up Internet services at this point, we recommend Net-Zero. They're crap, but they're cheap and they won't screw up your Credit Card account like AOL.
- If you are looking for mobile wireless, we still recommend the Alltel Wireless plug=in cards.
- If you are looking for fixed wireless, I can't recommend anyone local. The guy I gave all of the accounts to simply turned them off and refused to talk to anyone.
- If you are looking for DSL, I'd recommend skipping the pain and going straight to Cox.
- If you are looking for Web Hosting, Mike Herrod, at www.howlinmike.com is a good bet. He's kind of hard to get ahold of sometimes, but he's dogged about doing the right thing. Of all of the people that I gave accounts to, I think he did the best by those customers.
